ABOUT US
Rooted in experience
Séptember focuses on perimenopause. Our formulation is shaped by research, nutrients, and the lived experience of more than fifty women moving through menopause. Born from curiosity, and the will to be prepared.
What is perimenopause?
Perimenopause is the phase before menopause, when hormone levels begin to shift. It can start in your late thirties or forties and last several years. Cycles often become less predictable, and the body responds in new ways. Read more: The stages of menopause
How long does perimenopause last?
On average, perimenopause lasts four to ten years. For some women it is shorter, for others longer. It ends one year after the final menstrual period, which marks menopause itself.
What are common signs of perimenopause?
Changes in cycle length, sleep, mood, energy, skin, and temperature regulation are among the most reported. Each woman experiences this phase differently, and signs can come and go over time.
At what age does perimenopause usually begin?
Most women notice the first signs between ages 40 and 47, though it can start earlier. The timing is influenced by genetics, lifestyle, and individual health history.
Why does Séptember focus on perimenopause?
Séptember was founded by Thao after she learned, during recovery from surgery, that menopause would likely begin earlier for her than expected. She started reading, then spoke with more than fifty women between 35 and 65 about their experience. The same themes returned: sleep, energy, bones, mood, and a wish for care that fits into daily life. Most care only began once symptoms had taken hold, while research shows preparation makes a difference. Séptember was built around that gap, with a focus on understanding and preparation through supplements developed for the years before and during the shift. Read more: About us
